Hope Online recognizes that all students learn differently. While some students thrive in the traditional classroom setting, others are more successful through alternate methods of curriculum delivery.

While all students looking for an alternative path to complete their education are welcome to enroll, Hope Online largely benefits students who are:

  • Performing below grade level in at least one academic content area assessed by the CSAP, or an equivalent standardized test.
  • Living in a home or community that is classified as disadvantaged, including students qualifying for free or reduced lunch.
  • Attending a neighborhood public school that has been rated "low" or "unsatisfactory" within the previous three years.

Hope Online offers Internet-based learning technology and provides a well-rounded education designed to cater to individual student's needs. This learning model allows students to:

  • Use computers and the Internet to achieve their educational goals.
  • Learn at community-based Learning Centers or at home.
  • Utilize experienced Mentors and Teachers for one-on-one academic and social support.
  • Complete the curriculum at an individualized pace.
  • Study what they need to learn, not what they already know.

Assessments

Hope Online provides an education that meets or exceeds state standards. Each student's progress and knowledge are assessed through state-sponsored standardized testing, including the CSAP.

Other regular assessments at Hope Online help to gauge student progress and delineate whether remedial coursework or additional assignments are necessary.

Accountability

Hope Online has established additional accountability standards above and beyond those mandated by the state. To view these standards, click here.

In addition to the 24 course credits, Hope Online's graduation standards require students to achieve minimum scores on the ACT or Accuplacer, so students who choose to enter college will be exempt from taking remedial courses.
